This state-of-the-art unit combines both micron and carbon filtration with ultra violet light, one of the most effective means of reducing microbial contaminaants, to produce high quality drinking water. Ultra Violet Light kills most biological contaminants by inactivating viruses and bacteria. But, when not used in combination with other technologies it is ineffective against organic and inorganic contaminants and does not inactivate Giardia cysts.Used alone, UV light does not improve taste and odor and the light must be in contact with the water for a specified length of time for this method to be effective.
